Sometimes we are bombarded with fashion brands whose maain objective is getting the flashiest and most original design. It seems that we have forgotten that the materials of the clothes and accessories we wear in a daily basis are also extremely important. Because, nobody wants to invest in an absolutely original bag that is not going to last more than 2 seasons, right? Or in an expensive glasses that everybody is also wearing?
That’s exactly what the Hong-Kong based creative Flora Leung thought when she decided to develop a career as an accessories designer. For her label Matter Matters, the choice of forms and materials are the key of its design. Leung founded her accessories brand in April 2012 initially for her graduate show at the London College of Fashion (LCF) and she develops just one collection per year, which guarantees the quality of the products. Before starting her own label, Leung served as creative director of a famous vintage luxury accessories store in Hong Kong which clearly developed her taste for the high-end vintage designs.
Flora Leung raises her designs inspired by Post Modernism, Art Deco or Cubism’ influences through she aims to create bold, graphical, stylish and timeless high quality accessories. Matter Matters is definitely a retro style and lifestyle brand with a high touch of classic luxury. Take a look on her last collection because, you know… what matters, matters!
